Feb’2007-April’2022 with Mahindra & Mahindra , Mumbai as Deputy General Manager, L4

Joined as Manager and then promoted as Deputy General Manager, L4

Key Result Areas:

  • Assessing process needs in comparison with the global standards and implementing proactive actions to transform business functions.
  • Administering all activities such as production scheduling, manpower planning, customer inspection; controlling maintenance activities to meet the monthly production targets.
  • Managing large engagements across cross-functional segments, streamlining operations & maintaining schedules to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and driving business revenue & profits.
  • Working on:

    • Plastic Tool and Part developments including Interiors, Air vents, Exteriors, Under Hood , Under Bonnet Parts and Lighting Tools.
    • All SUV’s, Commercial Vehicles, Tractors, Trucks developed named as Xylo, Scorpio (old ), Bolero, Supro, Maximo, Bolero Pick up, KUV 100, TUV 300, Bolero Neo, Alturas, XUV 500, XUV 300, New Thar, XUV 400 , XUV 700 and Scorpion .

    The first tools and components produced in India are:

    • Front End Carrier .
    • Plastic Tailgate in XUV700, there is no other four wheeler in the country with Plastic Tailgate Air Bag Chutes.
    • Pillar Trims with paring lines on a surface.
  • Driving initiative of making larger tools like Bumpers and Instrument panels in India.
  • Creating toolmaker basket as per part family at India and Global level.
  • Evaluated and created basket of 30 toolmakers in India and 30 toolmakers in abroad.
  • Executing feasibility of all plastics part designs for manufacturing.
  • Managing mold costing to give targets to Purchase and Sourcing Teams to negotiate costs with suppliers.
  • Negotiating tool costs with suppliers as an when requested to Team or Senior Management.
  • Reviewing mold design and conducting kick off for manufacturing.
  • Facilitating mold buy off at toolmakers site and attending mold trials.
  • Optimizing cycle times.
  • Mapping texture on parts and securing approvals.
  • Conducting cavity inspection before texturing.
  • Troubleshooting for part fit and finish on vehicles.
  • Steering efforts in installation of molds at all Tier 1’s for part production.
  • Checking and maintaining tool health of all tools in production and vehicles in production.
  • Supporting all the vehicle manufacturing plants without any loss of vehicle due to mold’s break down.
  • Creating a healthy environment which facilitates high performance of team members and accomplishments of organizational goal.
  • Conducting risk assessment, hazard identification and mitigation, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) audits & accidents investigations by implementing Job Hazards Analysis and Daily Task Hazard Assessment Tools.

May’2006-Feb’2007 with Tata Auto Components, Pune as Manager-Business Development

Key Result Areas:

  • Spearheaded business development for overseas customers GM, Ford & Tool Development and Part Supply to Europe and the US
  • Contributed to the creation and implementation of best practice tool room vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Identified business improvement opportunities within the organization
  • Contributed to new business initiatives and projects and reviewed and communicated the impact on Tool Room activities.

May’2005-Apr’2006 with Sridevi Tool Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai as Tool Room Head

Key Result Areas:

  • Managed all departments of the Tool Room including manpower, customers and ensured the delivery of the right tools and parts
  • Provided specialist technical advice and support on all aspects of tool design, manufacturing and estimating
  • Supported production and engineering with tooling/technical problems
  • Led and coordinated resources within the Tool Room to ensure all tooling are produced efficiently, on time and in-line with quality standards

May’2004-Apr’2005 with Master craft Engineers Pvt. Ltd. as Tool Room Head

Key Result Areas:

  • Directed overall stock control and management of the tool room for the organization including the development, performance and maintenance of the tool room and stock control to produce smooth and efficient system and delivery solution, maximized performance & profitability against pre-agreed targets and control
  • Maintained responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations
  • Ensured that the team understands the mechanism of the tool room and their role within the organization and the duties of your team

Key Result Areas:

  • Joined as a Tool Designer and worked in all the departments of the Tool Room including marketing and later rose to the position of Tool Room Head
  • Maintained effective liaison, support and assistance with the whole organization
